Canterbury Orchestra exists for two principal reasons:
- to generate an open and stimulating environment for amateur and semi-professional musicians to develop and showcase their skills under the direction of a professionally qualified musical director.
- to provide access to performances of live orchestral music at very reasonable rates.
Each concert involves about 40 regular players and many other local musicians. There are normally 10 rehearsals for each concert and the performances takes place in various venues including St Peter’s Methodist Church and the Anselm Hall at Christ Church University.
Suitable for anyone aged 18 to 75.
