Offenders' Families Helpline

The Offenders’ Families Helpine provides information and support for families who have come into contact with the Criminal Justice System as a result of a family member’s offending behaviour. You can find out about what to expect if a member of your family is arrested, charged or going to court. The service can also provides information on:

  • how bail works

  • community sentences

  • prison

  • rights in custody

  • release

The information provided on this website aims to help you understand what will happen next and explain the terms and processes you may come across in your journey through the Criminal Justice System.
