Local Offer

Description

The preschool offers places for children 0-25 year old's under the SEND code of practice, we utilise SENIF and DAF to ensure full inclusion of all children to the early years curriculum.

Special Needs Support

Our trained and experienced practitioners will discuss with the setting SENDCo any concerns regarding SEND as a result of observations and planning. This will then be shared with the parents and a targeted plan will be put into place using the best practice guidance as a guide. This plan will allow us to explore the nature of your child's needs. If progress is still not made once the targets have been set and explored. We will make a referral to LIFT which is the local inclusion forum team, at this meeting your child's specific needs will be discussed with other professionals such as specialist teachers, speech and language therapist, education psychologists and other early year’s practitioners. As a result of this meeting outside professionals may decide to meet your child within the setting or make further referrals to support your child's progress and development.

Parents will be informed and be fully engaged with the setting and outside agencies in the developing and maintaining of targets and plans required for your child.

The environment and experiences the setting offers are differentiated for all children and we plan for individual children’s needs and age and stage. Our daily plans ensure all staff are aware of the differentiated learning which is to take place.

We use the progress tracking for all our children’s development and attainment. This is explained alongside the EYFS at every parent meeting. We enage with ECAT and Talk Boost to support early communication skills alongside these we use Makaton and visuals to compliment early communication.

Our SENDCos go on regular training and forums to support their knowledge. We also have good connections with other specialist services, who support us within the setting.

We use the progress tracker as well as targeted and personalised plans to monitor progress and development. These are both done alongside parents and carers.

We utilise additional funding streams to ensure augmented care is provided to ensure the children with SEND are involved in all the setting has to offer.

The building has larger doors at all exits for those with mobility difficulties and our setting is only on a ground floor level.

With all children we make contact with all transition schools and settings to share as much information as possible about the children's development and care needs. Transition primary schools often visit the setting and we share observations and techniques to support your child in their new school.

As part of the review process for targeted and personalised support we will involve parents/carers in the  evaluation to allow us to note the impact of the support given to individuals with specific needs. This will feed into progress tracking and allow us to show the impact of interventions.

Please contact the setting via email or telephone to arrange an initial visit.

We are always grateful of any feedback. We have a comments book displayed every day which you are welcome to read and add to. Although we are confident you will be happy with what Towers Tiny Tots has to offer we are also aware that there are occasions when something is not quite right. Our leaders are always available to talk to you regarding anything you are not completely satisfied with and will explore this further and offer you some feedback. The setting has a complaints procedure which is available to you at any time in the policy folder.
