National Careers Service


The National Careers Service provides free, professional careers information, advice and guidance to help individuals make decisions on learning, training and work. Anyone living in England and aged 13+ is eligible to access the service.

We can help you to:

  • Assess your skills.
  • Find out what a job involves and if it’s right for you.
  • Find out what kind of jobs could suit you.
  • Explore apprenticeship options.
  • Search for training courses and learning providers.
  • Get new qualifications.
  • Develop your CV.
  • Develop your interview skills.
  • Find the right job for you.

You can access careers advice and support free of charge via webchat, on the telephone and face-to-face with a qualified National Careers Service careers adviser in your local area.
