Using our progress tracker we are able to highlight which children may have additional needs or SEND.
We have a named SENCo who will work with parents and liaise with any outside agencies that may be required.
The SENCo will oversee and help plan the educational programme alongside the child's key person.
We have a SEND policy which all parents/carers have access to.
Advice will always be sought from relevant outside agencies
We are currently piloting an intervention tool that supports children with SEND. Personalised plans are made and adapted to ensure that children progress within the EYFS.
Funding may be available to help with training or resources etc. that may be needed
We have an open door policy which enables parents/carers to come into the pre-school at anytime to discuss a child’s progress etc.
We work closely with outside agencies and share advice with parents, so that strategies and behaviour management are consistent.
We put in place targeted and development plans which are shared with parents.
Training will be offered to staff and parents where needed.
We seek additional funding when needed to help pay for training, additional resources, extra members of staff to support a child, medical training (epipen, insulin etc.)
We work with outside agencies and always include parents in decisions.
By using our online journal and the Kent progress tracker we are able track a child's progress and plan for additional needs.
The pre-school SENCo ensures all targeted plans are regularly updated.
We make risk assessments to ensure that all children can be included in the same activities.
We offer outings and trips suited to the age, stage and ability of the group.
Our setting is on one level with only one step onto the outside play area. There is wheelchair access to the front of the building.
Parents are always invited on outings.
Key worker/SENCo offers to go with parents when visiting other settings to ensure the facilities and teaching strategies are suitable for their child.
Transition meetings are held when a new setting is chosen.
Parents and children are encouraged to visit our setting before a child starts, to ensure that enough information is shared about a child’s needs and the support they need can be put in place.
Settling in sessions are arranged.
Annual questionnaires are sent out to parents.
Contact should be made through our enrolling officer who will put you in touch with our SENCo.
Parents are invited to join our committee.
Comments can be added to a child’s online learning journal.
We have a complaints policy if needed.
