The University of the Third Age (U3A) self-help organisationt which provides, through its U3As, life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery!
Members share their skills and life experiences: the learners teach and the teachers learn, and there is no distinction between them.
There is a monthly meeting with a speaker from September to May and other activities including meetings of interest groups, short courses, outdoor activities and outings to theatre, music events, stately homes and gardens. Nearly all activities take place during the day.
We are based in Tenterden and St. Michael’s but draw members from the surrounding towns and villages: Cranbrook, Headcorn, Rolvenden, Bethersden and Biddenden among others.
