Mid Kent Mind provide a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment designed to promote positive wellbeing within the local community. We provide access to discreet services which help to improve mental, physical and financial wellbeing. Our services are varied – providing Community Groups, an Affordable Counselling service, a wide range of support for young people, and much more.
Our services are available to residents living in Maidstone, Ashford and Swale. Below you will find an outline of these services:
Adult Services
Our Adult Services consist of our three-week ‘Coping with Life’ course, which empowers people to develop positive coping strategies for their own mental health and wellbeing, alongside Community Activity Groups which promote engagement with wellbeing activities. We also provide one-to-one support and other structured courses for adults depending on the funding available at any given time.

Youth Services
Our Youth Services consist of three core courses which look at different areas of mental health in young people – ‘Bounce Back’, ‘Taming My Temper’ and ‘Managing Me’. Alongside these three courses, we provide a range of wellbeing activities for young people – including calligraphy workshops, watersports sessions and other hands-on activities. This work is complemented by one-to-one wellbeing support through our Wellbeing & Recovery Action Plans (WRAPs).

Affordable Counselling Service
Our Affordable Counselling Service provides a safe space and time where people can talk openly about their thoughts and feelings. This service provides an opportunity to talk to one of our counsellors without judgement – allowing you to access support which is shaped directly by your needs as an individual.

Training
Our Training helps us to champion awareness of mental health – tackling the stigma often wrongly associated with it so that we can encourage open conversation within our communities. We offer a wide range of training programmes – including Mental Health Awareness training, Mental Health First Aid training, and Suicide Prevention & Awareness training.
