The founder of Atlas Wellbeing and an Independent Advanced Drawing & Talking Practitioner, I support children's happiness and mental wellbeing in local primary and secondary schools.
Drawing & Talking and Drawing & Talking Sand Play Therapy are effective, early therapeutic interventions for children. The services I provide allow children to non-verbally process difficult emotions that have stopped them feeling happy, so the child doesn't struggle with words to express painful or uncomfortable feelings.
Complementing the work of CAMHS*, art and other specialist therapists, Drawing & Talking Therapy supports children age 5+ who need help now and are on the waiting list to meet with, or be assessed by other healthcare professionals.
The work with children is child-led, where we meet weekly for 30 minutes. In our sessions, the child either draws or plays with toys in sand and we talk about the drawings/games using language that means they don't feel the painful emotions associated with the trauma, difficulty or an event. This helps the child to process painful events or memories and learn how to move on with strength and a sense of calm, feeling happier than before the process.
My work is currently in and around my local area, supporting children in primary and secondary schools in Tonbridge, Paddock Wood, Horsmonden and Collier Street, Kent.
