Nelly Eluwa

My Name is Nelly Eluwa. I am an ofsted registered childminder with a Nursery experience  . I have also planned a successful summer camp event for children twice with over 90 children in attendance.

I understand how Parents wish to have a motherly care provided for their little ones whilst at work because i have been in a similar situation . For this reason , i look after children with a motherly touch updatng parents with their child's 'wao' moments . I also love listening to, encouraging, enabling, engaging and motivating children to learn. I have an 11 year old son who loves babies & also loves to teach the children how to colour too.

My recent Ofsted rating is good .

Special Needs Support

This i do by tracking the children's progress in accordance with the early years assessment record sheet, trackers and learning journal.

At the end of the day , during pickup of children , I provide parents with what we have done . I also provide details of what we ate , activities we carried out, including any wao moments of the day in the child's book

By providing stimulating environment with a range of toys and activities that support the child's prime & specific ares of development , example , periodic visits to the farm , parks etc to help their development in the area of understanding their world, picture and audio story books to support their communication , toy laptops and telephones to support their use of technology and more. i set u[ wide and various range of activities and also allow children sometimes to choose what we shall do for the day including role play.

We shall try to find what interests the child the most , what does he play with repeatedly ? Then introduce learning through that means. i shall also practice visiting groups with the child.

We monitor the child's progress by linking their wao moments in the Early Years assessment sheet and also communicate with parents and how the child is progressing and share information on how the child can be supported at home . We also plan the next steps to be followed to support the child . For example , when we start potty training , we share with the parents on how the child is progressing each and also encourage parents to carry on while at home to achieve our goal.

We love to practice inclusion by involving every child in the setting in most of our activities. For example , a child who is yet to speak and is over two years old is encourage to sit with us during our nursery sing along session and join us while we sing , clap and gesticulate.

very accessible

By providing the updated record of the child progress to the the new setting or school

By working hand in hand with SEN Provider . keeping record of the childs initial level of need and comparing the progress periodically with parents too.

Myself , Nelly Eluwa.

We encourage parents to read the child's daily record book and put in their feedback. Also parents are encouraged to fill in a section of the 2 year old review sheets before we can conclude.  A compliant book is also provided while ofsted number is clearly placed on the board for easy access to parents should they need to ring Ofsted. Reviews are welcome too with regards to compliments .
