Special Needs Support
How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?
Through training and experience
How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
You will be informed and consulted in person at each and every step of the process, and together we will decide how best to move forward.
How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?
All children are treated as individuals and the curriculum is designed to meet all their needs. If the curriculum needs adapting in any way this will be done to best suit each particular child, we encourage parental input.
What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?
There are many systems in place to observe and plan for all children including those with additional needs, much of this is done with our Keyperson system. The children are tracked as individuals and the setting as cohort. Termly summaries and parental input. Regular visits from specialist teaching service. Targeted plans.
What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?
Every effort is made to make sure all activities supplied are for all children to access. On occasions strategies will be put in place to make activities more accessible to all children.
How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?
children are observed, monitored and tracked using our Keyperson system.
How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?
The building is all on one level, so very accessible.
