Local Offer

Description

All children regardless of learning difficulties or disabilities are unique and should be given the oppotunity to flourish at thier own pace.

All children are valued equally.

All children are welcome.

Special Needs Support

When children start at my setting, I ask parents to complete an all about me form which gives a basic starting point for each individual child. This along with observations, EYFS tracking and a progress check at 2 years old help to establish any developmental delay which would be discussed and and next steps identified. I will also use any information from other settings and agencies.

Every step of a childs learning is shared with parents. This will include photos, art work, daily informal chats about what we've done.

Any concerns will be shared.

Each child is unique and will have  next steps  in place to reflect thier individual learning.

There are 3 prime areas of learning.

Communication and Language: I offer a language rich environment , a small library where children choose books for us to share stories, I will work with outside agencies such as speech therapists when required and I share ideas and resources with parents.

Personal, Social and Emotion Development: Use individual activities to promote well-being. link with health workers and specialists for advice, access training when needed.

Physical Development:We have regular access to outdoor spaces, offer a range of healthy foods and water for snacks, think about factors such as lighting and noise for children that have sensory issues, link up with outside agencies and therapists.

There is access to a quiet space and I make time for 1 to 1 activities for all children which enables me to taylor learning and experiences.

I work with outside agencies to make sure any recommendations are followed.

Provide individual plans and next steps for each child.

I have a wide range of resources for all abilities and levels of learning.

If I felt additional support was needed, I would discuss with parents and get consent to make a referral to any outside agencies I felt could help.

i can access online training and research information when required.

A scrapbook/learning journal is sent home termly any concerns would be brought up and a plan would be put in place.

a progress check is completed when your child turns 2 and this can be shared with health visitors.

I work alongside parents and always build good relationships. Parents are never in the dark about their childs development and learning.

I make regular risk assessments when we go on outings to make sure all children are safe and included.

Unfortunately I only have an upstairs bathroom and also have steps down into my garden. As my home is rented I would be unable to make alterations for children with severe mobility problems but would be happy to discuss this with parents .

With consent I will pass on the 2 year progress check.

I provide schools with a transition report detailing progress in areas of learning.

We work on independence ie using the toilet, getting dressed

I try and arrange a visit from the school it the child doesn't attend another setting where this happens
