I offer a home away from home setting to allow children and their families to feel safe and comfortable. I have almost 10 years experience working in Early Years as well as experience working with SEND children. I am excited to use my knowledge of the EYFS as a foundation for supporting your children as they learn through play. I am a mum to a 3 year old and we both look forward to welcoming new friends into our home. Activities I enjoy doing with the children include story telling, singing, messy play, arts & crafts, and outdoor play.

Tiney Profile
Special Needs Support
How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?
I will be doing regular termly reports and closely monitoring your child's development. If any concerns do arise, I will speak to you and offer support and guidance on next steps and how best to support your child and your family. I have experience in working with children with autism, however I am not a specialist and will seek support from professionals in ways to best support your child.
How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
I will speak to you face to face in a meeting to discuss how to support your child and will keep you updated on any targeted plans and any discussions had with other professionals.
How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?
I understand that the EYFS curriculum is not always suitable for all children and will use it as guidance on how to support your child's individual needs.
What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?
I attend regular CPD courses and would look to further my understanding of your child's needs through additional training, seeking support from the local council as well as supporting parents to find information and training for them within the local area. I will continue to provide daily updates through the online learning journal so parents are able to see what we have been working on and any next steps we are working towards.
What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?
I offer a quieter setting with few children, allowing me to provide more specialised care. All medicine is stored in a locked cupboard, medication forms are kept on hand and we can discuss any further medical needs your child may require. I have a behaviour policy in place and as long as the safety of the children in my care is not at risk, I am happy to work with parents on methods and approaches that help your child to manage their feelings, emotions, and help them express themselves freely.
How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?
I provide a settling in review, termly assessments and am also able to provide targeted plans if these are needed. I am also happy to reach out to other services and work with them to support your child. I will keep a log of any discussions with them and freely share this information with you, the parent.
How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?
I will look to adapt my activities to suit all children's needs and create an accessible experience for everyone. For trips, if needed I may employ an assistant to help support us on our trips out.
How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?
The building is accessible to enter, however the toilet is located upstairs.
How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?
I will provide a written hand over and transition form to share with the new setting including and supporting parents and children in anyway possible.
How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?
I will look to involve parents in what they feel their child needs to have provided and assess how this will work within my smaller setting.
Who should I contact if I am considering registering for a place at the setting?
Contact Alyssa Fagg and we will discuss your child's needs and whether I can safely accomodate them.
What arrangements does the setting have for feedback from parents / carers, including compliments and complaints?
I have a complaints policy and offer information for parents to make complaints to Tiney, and equally am always open to feedback via text, email, or in person. I also offer parents a chance for discussing concerns or questions on each termly report.
