aARTvark is an artistic day centre based in Ashford for adults with learning disabilities, additional needs and mental health problems.
At aArtvark we use a wide variety of drawing, painting and textile techniques, and we enjoy an array of craft activities.
We are driven by the challenge in finding ways and to make adaptations for each individual to enable them to reach their goals. It is our priority that the works created are achieved by the student with our guidance and support, so that ultimately the artwork is theirs to be proud of.
We have regular exhibitions, and students are involved in the whole process. It is a joy to see how proud the students are to display their work to the public and to discuss it with visitors.
aArtvark is run by a professional artist who is a fully qualified and registered art teacher. The other members of our aArtvark team are specialised in a variety of subject areas, making it a very exciting learning environment. We also make sure that the art products and materials used are of the best quality, as our students deserve to experience working with products that will help them to achieve the best possible results. At aArtvark, we strongly believe in integrated learning, and as a registered Asdan centre we deliver a variety of courses, but without putting any pressure on our students; often students don't necessarily realise they are working towards a certificate.
Our students have built many friendships, and occasionally there are outings to places such as the Harry Potter Studio, restaurants, the cinema and the theatre.
Feel free to contact us for a free taster session.
