The nursery is in the grounds of West Malling Primary School. The nursery garden surrounds the purpose built premises and has access to the school playing field for sports in the summer, nature walk and wildlife discovery.
The nursery is arranged into two classrooms, a small classroom for 8 x 2 year olds and a larger classroom for up to 24 x 3 and 4 year olds. The nursery also has a large kitchen that is used for cookery and at snack and lunch time.
The daily sessions comprise of both adult initiated activities and child initiated activities. Activities are planned to cover all 7 areas of The Early Years Foundation stage, ensuring a broad range of experiences, and learning opportunities for all children. The curriculum incudes French lessons, yoga, music and movement, gardening and cookery.
The nursery is managed by Verity Percival who has worked as an Early Years Practitioner since qualifying in 1993. The nursery team consists of trained, experienced practitioners who are passionate about providing the best start to every child’s educational journey.
